Isaiah 53:1
Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
What is the message? It is the good news that Jesus has accomplished our salvation. The announcement of God's eternal triumph, the atonement of our sin, by the cross of Christ.
It is the message of our reconciliation to our Maker, of forgiveness, and that God Himself has adopted us as His children, with full rights as heirs to His Kingdom.
It is the message that God has defeated sin and death. He has conquered death through the dead and resurrection of Jesus, and has revealed His wisdom and power, that we may place our complete trust in His everlasting loving kindness.
“O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(1 Corinthians 15:55-57)
Without faith, the message of Jesus is unbelievable. That a murdered, first century Jewish carpenter is the wisdom and power of God and the Savior of the world. Indeed - Who has believed our message?
Yet the evidence for the existence of God and the truth of Jesus is overwhelming. From documented evidence in thousands of Biblical manuscripts, to the fulfillment of hundreds of Biblical prophecies about Jesus and the history of the world. Intelligent and reasonable proof that the Christian faith is undeniably the truth.
But most people are not interested in truth. Most people want what they want, and placing ourselves under God’s rule is thought to be inconvenient and restrictive to following our own desires and pleasures.
Therefore, we make a choice; we either forsake the things we cannot hold on to, like youth, money and fame, and follow Jesus; or we forsake Jesus, and follow someone or something else to wherever they lead us - which in the end is death and eternal separation from God.
Either way, we are all followers of someone or something, and only Jesus can lead us to heaven because He is the only One who has died and risen from the dead, and is now seated, with all authority, in heaven with God.
To whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? The arm of the Lord is the power of God. His Almighty ability to create something from nothing. The reality of life, with all its complexity and diversity, demonstrates without doubt that nothing is impossible for God. The human body alone is proof enough that God is all powerful, all wise, all knowing, and has made Himself know through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
Have you believed the message of Almighty God concerning His One and Only Son, Jesus?
If you have, your eyes will be opened, and you will see the beauty and glory of God more and more each day, as you follow Jesus by faith, and bathe yourself in His word the Bible. And seeking to trust and obey His commands to love God and love people, according to the example Jesus set for us.
Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
